Background

• Major contributor to the pioneering of lepidoptera collecting in Utah.

• Served as President of the Utah Lepidopterists' Society in 1990.

• In the words of Col. Clyde F. Gillette, "almost singlehandedly, kept Utah on the lepidoptera map searching out many new Utah locations, establishing 8 notable State Records and a large number of County Records and other core records including larval foodplants."

• Experienced collector of butterflies throughout the Americas.

• Donated collection to the BYU Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum.
